SIDNEJAS LATVIEŠU VĪRU KORIM (SLVK) – 70 GADU JUBILEJAS KONCERTS
Koris dibināts 1956. gadā un joprojām ir vecākais vīru koris ārpus Latvijas, kas pastāvējis nepārtraukti. Šogad korim piepildās 70 dziesmotie gadi. Sidnejas Latviešu vīru koris (SLVK) ir tautiešiem, it sevišķi sidnejiešiem, labi pazīstams. Draudzībā un ar dziesmu mīlestību, koris turpina iepriecināt kā sevi, tā arī savus lojālos klausītājus un atbalstītājus.
Kopš š. g. marta sākuma ap 30 koristi cītīgi apmeklē mēģinājumus, lai diriģentes Aijas Dragūnas un koncertmeistares Viktorijas Mačēnas vadībā sagatavotu koncerta programmu. Šajā jubilejas sarīkojumā publiku pārsteigsim. Koncertā piedalīsies Sidnejas Latviešu vīru koris, un tam pievienosies arī Melburnas un Adelaides vīru kori VESERIS un DAUGAVA, jo šajā nedēļas nogalē arī notiks otrais Austrālijas Latviešu Vīru koru saiets ar kulmināciju jubilejas koncertā.
No Latvijas piedalīsies virsdiriģents Edgars Vītols. No Melburnas viesdiriģente Daina Jaunbērziņa un no Adelaides – diriģents Matīss Reinhards. Jauktā kora dziesmu daļā dzirdēsit Sidnejas kori SKANDA, kā arī „Vesera sievas”.
Šo nozīmīgo 70 gadu sasniegumu svinēsim ar lielisku koncertu svētdien, 13. septembrī, Sidnejas Latviešu namā. Skatītājiem vietas pie galdiem būs rezervējamas. Bufete un bārs atvērti no plkst. 13.00. Koncerta sākums plkst. 14.00.

SYDNEY LATVIAN MALE CHOIR 70th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT
The choir was founded in 1956 and remains the oldest continuously active Latvian male choir outside Latvia. This year, the choir celebrates 70 song-filled years. The Sydney Latvian Male Choir (SLVK) is well known among the Latvian community, especially in Sydney. United by friendship and a love of song, the choir continues to bring joy both to its members and to its loyal audiences and supporters.
Since the beginning of March this year, around 30 choristers have been diligently attending rehearsals to prepare the concert programme under the direction of conductor Aija Dragūna and accompanist Viktorija Mačēna. At this anniversary event, we will surprise the audience. The Sydney Latvian Male Choir will perform in the concert, joined by the Melbourne and Adelaide male choirs VESERIS and DAUGAVA, as the second Australian Latvian Male Choir Gathering will also take place that weekend, culminating in the anniversary concert.
Chief conductor Edgars Vītols will take part from Latvia. Guest conductor Daina Jaunbērziņa will come from Melbourne, and conductor Matīss Reinhards from Adelaide. In the mixed-choir section of the programme, you will hear the Sydney choir SKANDA, as well as “The Wives of Veseris”.
We will celebrate this significant 70-year achievement with a wonderful concert on Sunday, 13 September, at the Sydney Latvian House. Reserved table seating will be available for audience members. The buffet and bar will be open from 1:00 p.m. The concert begins at 2:00 p.m.
